BEST 2.2: Building Efficiencies through Strategic Transformation

Haley Vaigneur and Katheryn Peterson are leading the efforts and collaborating with UKHC Ambulatory Services to initiate BEST 2.2 with the goal of improving staff and room utilization. The four clinics identified are Internal Medicine, Cardiology/Maxwell, Infectious Disease, Cardiology/Gill and GI. Time study analysts comprised of OVIHD staff, CHSR staff, and students from the College of Health Sciences were deployed to measure clinic efficiency. Data gathering and analysis tools were built internally by the OVIHD and DASC and feature an automated report capability. This current state assessment will provide the foundation for improving daily throughput in the clinics.
